Notes from the design team
Our group was tasked with exploring and understanding the existing long-term care community at the neighboring Residence 600 in the northern Salina community. A small but vibrant community, this new building and surrounding grounds were selected for housing memory care needs individuals and seniors next door and in connection with the existing Residences. A beautiful small plot of clear land is bordered on the sides by a small creek and wooded area, allowing privacy and some intimate connection to nature for the new proposed residents.
“We took direction from the housing & senior living expert with the development group. Our primary focus was crafting a small scale community with all aspects of ‘livability’ and connection to nature at the heart.”
